Oliver’s House
We talked a lot about Oliver’s house and how we wanted to represent him as a character. After scouting several locations of apartments, Sian and Kyle Kannenberg (Production Designer) came to the conclusion that rather than displace friends for the shoot, it might be better to displace Before the Door.
Since the office is located in a small craftsman style house, it actually felt perfect as Oliver’s home. So we moved out the desks and moved in furniture and created his space…
The transformation began with picking paint colors and attacking the walls…
We painted.
Then decided it was too dark and repainted…
Took many trips to the dollar store…
And to Petco…
Made decisions about which dog toy was funnier…
Andrew Hussey (prop master) and the talented women in the art department built an insane amount of props by hand.
Thyra (Art Department/Storyboards/Sian’s sister) worked on perfecting her hand-drawn “doggie art”.
The end result of all of this hard work was beautiful. Our team knocked it out in a few days and it looked amazing on camera.

YAY Dollar Store!
[yes, I am going to comment on every single page – sorry]
@snthomson
Can’t wait to see this part! Since I was at the shelter all this will be new to me.
My dogs love stuffed squirrels. I think they think it’s the real thing :).
