Stills from Day 2 by David Newsom

Day Two began with an action packed sequence in the parking lot of the North Central Animal shelter.  It was our first day working with two incredible actors, Philip Baker Hall and the lovely Sharon Wilkins.  And of course it was the day Zach discovered his new tiny friend, Little Sister, who was destined to come home with him after the shoot.  This was a huge day and the only day the shelter was closed, so it was important for us to shoot out all of the reception area and parking lot scenes.   I think we must have had forty setups, many of them on a dolly.   It was a beast.

We were thrilled to have our Kickstarter “executive producers” come visit the set.  Lindsay, Sara and Acadia were a lot of fun and hung out and mingled all day with the cast and crew.  We even found a spot for them as background in one scene.  We couldn’t have had three nicer people step up for us in such a generous way.  Thank you guys!  And to all the rest of you, who made this possible!

  1. Oh my goodness, Little Sister is so adorable it hurts. Does she have fur or hair? Looks kind of like hair like a schnauzer – does she shed?
